Job summary

Lumilens Inc. is seeking a Silicon Photonic Engineer to lead the development of next-generation photonics products.

This high-impact leadership role shapes product direction, translates customer needs into clear technical requirements, and drives cross-functional execution from concept to validation. You will work with customers, contract manufacturers, and internal teams to ensure quality, accountability, and scalable manufacturing while tackling complex packaging and integration challenges in

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a technical leadership role developing and delivering photonics-based products.
• Deep expertise in silicon photonics design, performance characteristics, and trade-offs.
• Direct experience with packaged silicon photonics or optical engine development, including packaging trade-offs and manufacturing considerations.
• Demonstrated ability to perform optical link budget analysis using simulation and modeling.
• Experience defining product requirements and driving execution across hardware, firmware, software, validation, and manufacturing teams.
• Experience defining test plans (EVT, DVT, SVT) and test methodologies for optical systems.
• Hands-on, lab-focused mindset in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Help Define Product: drive requirements balancing performance, manufacturability, cost, and time-to-market.
• Be the Customer and Product Voice: interface with customers, foundry partners, and suppliers.
• Drive Cross-Functional Alignment: align engineering teams and stakeholders around priorities and milestones.
• Analyze and Optimize: perform link analysis and modeling for real-world performance.
• Translate System Goals into Execution: convert objectives into actionable requirements for teams.
• Lead Packaged Optics Execution: guide development of packaged silicon photonics and co-packaged optics.
• Validate: define testing strategy and lead lab verification and product validation.
