Job summary

J&O Plastics Inc. is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead an assigned second- or third-shift injection molding production team in Rittman, Ohio. You will be responsible for people, decisions, execution, and output on your shift, with a greater degree of autonomy than typical supervisory roles.

The role emphasizes visible floor leadership, safety, quality, and timely decision-making, with a pathway toward senior production leadership through consistent performance and team development.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of manufacturing leadership, team‑lead, or production supervision experience.
• Strong ability to lead employees and execute production requirements in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort operating with autonomy and making decisions without escalation where appropriate.
• Experience with 5S, Lean manufacturing, standard work and visual management.
• Familiarity with root‑cause methods (5-Why, 8D, DMAIC, fishbone).
• Excellent communication, decision-making, prioritization, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Experience with shift reporting and production systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct injection molding production across multiple presses on the assigned shift.
• Execute the production schedule and adapt to changing priorities.
• Assign staffing and machine resources based on production needs.
• Monitor output, cycle performance, downtime, scrap, and quality in real time.
• Perform mold changes and changeovers per standards to minimize downtime.
• Lead safety, quality, and continuous improvement on the shift.
• Deliver thorough handoffs and escalate issues as needed.
