Job summary

Aspire Indiana Health is seeking a Director of Shelter to lead all shelter operations, including year-round facilities and weather-response sites, ensuring compliance and high-quality care across programs.

The role requires hands-on administrative and operational leadership, strategic planning, and collaboration with clinical and support teams, regulators, and funders. Travel up to 15% is required; a valid license and driving record are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• 5+ years of related work experience, with 3+ years supervisory.
• Experience with third party grants/contracts.
• Experience with Medicaid Rehabilitation Option (MRO) preferred.
• Knowledge of housing systems (HUD, Coordinated Entry, HMIS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and day-to-day oversight for all shelter facility operations and emergency weather-response sites.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and implement modern workflows and emergency protocols.
• Collaborate with clinical and support leadership to attain a whole health model of care.
• Ensure adequate shelter staffing during standard operations and weather events.
• Monitor KPIs, evaluate program efficacy, and report progress to leadership and stakeholders.
• Represent the Agency with regulatory bodies and community partners.
• Oversee data integrity, billing processes, and reporting in EHR/HMIS.
• Lead development and monitoring of annual shelter budgets and funding allocations.
• Chair and participate in assigned committee meetings.
