Job summary

Aspire Indiana Health seeks a Director of Shelter to lead year-round and seasonal shelter operations, ensuring compliance and high-quality, whole-health services in Central Indiana. You will oversee staffing, budgets, data integrity in HMIS/EHR, and collaboration with clinical leaders and regulators.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, five years in housing management with supervisory experience, and willingness to travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required.
• Five years of housing management experience required.
• Three years of supervisory experience required.
• Experience with third-party grants / contracts required.
• Experience with Medicaid Rehabilitation Option (MRO) preferred.
• Knowledge of HUD, Coordinated Entry, HMIS systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and day-to-day oversight for all shelter facility operations and weather-response sites.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and implement modern workflows and protocols.
• Collaborate with clinical and support leadership to attain a whole health care model.
• Ensure adequate shelter staffing during standard operations and weather events.
• Monitor KPIs, evaluate program efficacy, and report progress to leadership and stakeholders.
• Represent the Agency with regulatory agencies, local officials and community organizations.
• Oversee data integrity, client documentation, billing processes, and HMIS/EHR reporting.
• Lead the development and monitoring of annual shelter service budgets and funding allocations.
• Chair and participate in assigned committee meetings.
