Job summary

The MIL Corporation in Maryland is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Technician V to support engineering, prototyping, fabrication, maintenance, and production operations at NAWCAD Webster Outlying Field (WOLF).

The successful candidate will fabricate, modify, install, repair, and maintain sheet-metal assemblies and related components, using blueprints, drawings, models, and technical specifications, while applying journeyman-level techniques and safety standards.

Qualifications

Minimum 15 years hands-on sheet-metal fabrication/installation experience.
Ability to read engineering drawings and work instructions.
Experience operating fabrication equipment safely.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day guidance and mentorship to junior technicians.
Plan, layout, fabricate, modify, install, and repair sheet-metal components from drawings and specs.
Fabricate and repair machine guards, pans, shelves, tanks, ducts, and related parts.
Operate fabrication equipment including press brakes, shears, rollers, punches, drills, laser cutters, waterjets.
Perform cutting, bending, forming, fitting, and assembly with hand/power tools.
Inspect work against drawings and tolerances and document quality.
Coordinate with engineers, machinists, welders, inspectors, and program personnel to meet requirements.
Maintain a safe work environment and support surge projects.
