The MIL Corporation is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker V to support engineering, prototyping, fabrication, and production at NAWCAD Webster Outlying Field in St. Inigoes, Maryland.

You will fabricate, install, repair, and maintain sheet-metal assemblies and related systems for DoD and Naval Aviation programs. You will plan and execute sheet-metal work from blueprints and technical specs, applying journeyman-level fabrication techniques while supporting rapid prototype development and

Competenze

• Minimum 15 years of hands-on sheet-metal fabrication, installation, maintenance, or manufacturing experience at the journeyman level.
• Experience planning and laying out work from blueprints, drawings, sketches, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency operating sheet-metal fabrication equipment (press brakes, shears, rollers, punches, drills) and related shop machinery.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to fabricate, form, fit, assemble, and install sheet-metal components with limited supervision.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions.
• Knowledge of fabrication safety practices and shop procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined or elevated spaces.
• Valid driver’s license; U.S. citizenship required.

Mansioni

• Provide day-to-day guidance, direction, and mentorship to technicians.
• Plan, layout, fabricate, modify, install, and repair sheet-metal components from engineering drawings and specs.
• Fabricate and repair machine guards, shelves, ducts, and other sheet-metal products.
• Operate and maintain sheet-metal fabrication equipment (press brakes, shears, rollers, punches, drills, laser cutters, waterjet).
• Perform cutting, bending, forming, shaping, fitting, fastening, and assembly with hand and power tools.
• Support prototype, developmental, and production hardware for DoD programs.
• Interpret drawings and work orders to determine fabrication requirements.
• Conduct dimensional inspections and verify conformance to drawings and quality standards.
• Assist with first article inspections, in-process inspections, and quality documentation.
