Job summary

The City of Tacoma is seeking a Senior Sewer Worker to lead the Sewer Maintenance team in the Environmental and Public Works Department. The role focuses on technical leadership, directing Sewer Equipment Operator and Labor crews, and ensuring safety rules are followed on all job sites.

You will oversee a broad set of sewer maintenance tasks, lead jobsite planning, and communicate effectively with customers and office staff while maintaining accurate records and coordinating materials and tools.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Three years of experience in repair, maintenance and cleaning of wastewater and surface water facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew in maintenance, repair and operation of wastewater and surface water systems.
• Provide work direction and safety oversight on job sites.
• Oversee excavations and installation, inspection and maintenance tasks.
