Job summary

The Alaska Department of Health in Anchorage invites applications for a Senior Services Technician to process Medicaid Waiver applications and determine eligibility and benefit authorizations.

You will perform administrative duties and communicate with consumers, care coordinators, and legal representatives. Some travel within Alaska is required; hybrid telework may be possible after probation.

Qualifications

  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Three years of clerical experience with one year of experience in public health, health care services, senior services, medical assistance programs, health education, nursing, medical social work, health services administration, or a closely related field.
  • Substitution: College education from an accredited college with a course emphasis in social services or a related field may substitute for the required experience.

What you will be doing:

You're invited to join the Central Application Processing team as a Senior Services Technician. In this role, you will:

Receive and process applications for Medicaid Waiver services and make accurate, timely eligibility determinations and benefit authorizations.

Perform administrative duties by mailing, faxing, or secure messaging notices to consumers and corresponding with care coordinators and legal representatives.

This Position will require Occasional Travel within the State of Alaska.

You will work closely with other members in both the Division and the Department of Health.

There may be an opportunity for a hybrid telework schedule once the incumbent has successfully passed the probation period.
