Job summary

Santa Fe County is seeking a Director-level leader to manage the Senior Services Division under the Community Services umbrella. You will oversee staff, budgets, grants, contracts, and programs, ensuring compliance and program effectiveness.

Responsibilities include planning senior programs, coordinating transportation and meals services, and developing new funding sources while maintaining strong relationships with community partners and government entities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration, Public Health, Social Work, or a related field.
• Five (5) years of public program management experience, including at least two (2) years of supervisory experience.
• Education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis or High School Diploma or GED and nine (9) years of public program management experience, including at least two (2) years of supervisory experience.
• A completed New Mexico EDGE Public Supervisor certification will substitute for two (2) years of required supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff, provides instruction to employees; plans and assigns work; evaluates and approves/disapproves leave requests; approves timesheets; checks final work for compliance with policies and procedures; recommends hiring and disciplinary actions.
• Plans, implements, administers, and evaluates Senior programs that provide services to the public.
• Collects and analyzes program and community data to evaluate needs, goals, services, and program effectiveness; supports required reporting.
• Oversees daily operations of Senior Services programs and staff, including transportation, home-delivered meals, congregate meals, socialization, and activities.
• Assesses community needs and coordinates resources to enhance existing programs.
• Writes grants to develop new funding sources, and administers grants and contracts.
• Prepares and monitors budgets and submits required reports to funding sources and governmental entities.
• Develops relationships with community agencies and partners to support Senior Services planning and operation.
