Job summary

Carter Machinery in Myersville, MD is seeking a Service Supervisor to lead the service department, oversee work orders, and ensure safe, high-quality repairs for heavy construction equipment. You will manage technicians, coordinate parts and tooling, and maintain strong customer relationships while driving continuous improvement.

The role requires five+ years in service of heavy equipment and prior supervision.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of service-related experience in heavy construction equipment.
• Supervisory experience is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Thorough knowledge of repair and function of heavy equipment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent customer service and strong written/oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the work order closing process and review orders for accuracy.
• Maintain customer relations and address disputes promptly.
• Oversee daily workflow of the service department.
• Enforce safe work practices and conduct monthly safety meetings.
• Develop QC procedures and repair processes for high-quality service.
• Manage service logistics, materials, equipment and technicians.
• Coordinate technician schedules and communicate repair plans.
• Perform annual performance reviews and discuss wages.
• Monitor productivity and repair quality.
• Address issues delaying repair completion as quoted.
• Establish maintenance schedules for service vehicles and equipment.
• Collaborate with team on continuous improvement goals.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
