Job summary

Carter Machinery Company, Inc. in Myersville, MD is seeking a Service Supervisor to lead the service department, ensure safety and quality, and maintain strong customer relationships.

You will oversee work orders, scheduling, and technician performance while driving continuous improvement across the shop. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of heavy equipment service experience, a high school diploma, and strong mechanical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ service-related experience in heavy construction equipment industry.
• Thorough knowledge of the function and repair of heavy construction equipment.
• Strong communication with excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee work order closing process; review for accuracy and completeness, and close orders to invoice.
• Maintain good customer relations through communication and address concerns promptly.
• Oversee the daily workflow of the service department.
• Ensure technicians follow safe work practices; conduct monthly safety meetings and trainings.
• Develop quality control procedures to ensure high customer service.
• Manage service logistics: materials, equipment, personnel; order parts as needed.
• Coordinate technician work schedules and align repair plans with quotes.
• Conduct timely performance reviews for service technicians.
• Monitor productivity and repair quality.
• Address issues impacting on-time completion of repairs.
• Establish maintenance schedules for service vehicles/equipment and conduct inspections.
• Collaborate with team on Continuous Improvement goals.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
