Job summary

The Community Builders, Inc. (TCB) is hiring a Service Technician III to lead complex repairs across apartment interiors, exteriors, and grounds. This roving, five-days-a-week in-office role requires strong trades skills, customer service excellence, and independent work habits.

You will mentor junior techs and coordinate with contractors to keep properties in top condition. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing appliances, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC, plus site upkeep,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or progressive experience preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of advanced hands-on repair in three+ building trades.
• REAC/HQS experience preferred; industry-trade certifications/degrees preferred.
• Special Boilers License required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and perform repairs for appliances, carpentry, hardware, masonry, painting, basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Respond to service requests and on-call emergencies promptly as directed by management.
• Monitor preventive maintenance tasks for building systems and components.
• Prepare and repair vacant apartments for new residents.
• Maintain grounds and common spaces, including cleaning, trash, landscaping, and snow removal.
• Prepare repairs for REAC/HQS inspections and audits.
• Maintain maintenance shop and inventory with safety mindset and PPE.
• Be available for weekend work, on-call rotation, and emergency calls.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor with technical guidance to Tech I/II and contractor/vendor management.
