Job summary

TheHiveCareers is seeking a Server Specialist to design, implement, and maintain server infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability across on‑premises and cloud environments.

You will manage Windows/Linux servers, virtualization, storage, backups, and disaster recovery; implement patches, automate tasks with PowerShell and Bash, and collaborate with network and application teams to keep systems healthy and compliant.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years hands-on server administration experience.
• Experience managing enterprise infrastructure.
• Familiar with ITIL incident/change/problem management.
• Proficient in Windows and Linux server administration.
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and Bash.
• Ability to document configurations and processes.
• Experience with virtualization, storage, and backups.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux servers and virtualization.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot server issues.
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Plan backups and disaster recovery.
• Apply security patches and hardening.
• Plan migrations and upgrades.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support for server-related incidents.
• Collaborate with network and application teams for system integration.
• Develop automation scripts for routine tasks.
• Prepare reports on server health and utilization.
