Job summary

NXP Semiconductors in Austin, TX seeks a skilled technician to troubleshoot and repair hardware and process failures across multiple dry-etch tool sets. You will perform preventive maintenance, use SPC and FabGuard data, and document activities to improve standard work.

You will manage spare parts, interact with multiple disciplines in a 7x24 environment, and assist engineers with upgrades and downtimes. This role requires initiative and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or higher in engineering or science.
• 5+ years semiconductor manufacturing experience.
• 7+ years of NXP (or affiliate) experience may qualify in lieu of degree.
• Working knowledge with Ulvac, Gasonics, Mattson, Fusion Gemini, AMAT (MxP, MxP+, IPS, DPS, Super E & 5200's) & LAM (4400 & Coronus) Dry Etch tools.
• Experience with electronics, equipment troubleshooting, installation, repair and operation of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to read schematics and complex drawings/diagrams.
• Physically capable of standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Able to multitask in a diverse, 7x24 manufacturing environment.
• Analytical problem solving and testing skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair hardware and process failures across listed tool sets.
• Perform preventive maintenance per standardized work documents.
• Use SPC charts and FabGuard Fault Detection to evaluate tool performance.
• Document maintenance activities and help improve standardized work documents.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and related tasks for area success.
• Interact with multiple disciplines in a 7x24 facility with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate with Equipment Engineers on upgrades and long down troubleshooting.
• Coordinate wafer recoveries and post maintenance qualification tasks.
• Work with Manufacturing Leads to schedule equipment downtime.
