Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist in Allentown, PA. You will lead a team of engineers and scientists on sediment remediation projects for federal and public sector clients, applyingExpert knowledge of mitigation approaches and regulatory processes.

You will guide technical assessments, design remedial actions, and interface with clients and outside consultants, ensuring projects meet regulatory standards and client needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of related experience; travel may be required.
• Experience leading engineers/scientists on sediment remediation projects.
• Knowledge of CERCLA, GLLA, and regulatory steps for sediment sites.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to clients and stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise evaluating the feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and design sediment remediation for riverine, coastal, and port sites.
• Understand principles of sediment transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches, and remedial design/ construction.
• Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager on sediment sites, communicating strategy to clients and coordinating with SME teams.
• Lead staff in preparing technical materials to be sound, compliant, and well-reviewed.
