CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior‑level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist to lead projects and guide teams on sediment remediation for federal and public sector clients. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree with about 7 years of related experience and be prepared for travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree. 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Travel frequency is contingent on duties and workload.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise evaluating the feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and designs.
• Understand principles of sediment and contaminant transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modelling, dredge approaches, remedial design and construction.
• Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager on sediment sites, communicating a technical strategy to clients.
• Possess in-depth expertise in CERCLA, GLLA, and regulatory steps at contaminated sediment sites.
• Act as technical liaison with client/public and outside consultants for complex evaluations.
• Lead staff in preparing and reviewing technical information to ensure regulatory compliance.
