Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist to lead sediment remediation projects for Federal and Public sector clients. The candidate will work independently and as a team leader, evaluating technologies and designing remediation strategies for riverine, coastal, and port settings.

Travel may be required; strong communication and regulatory knowledge (CERCLA, GLLA) are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; 7 years related experience; travel may be required.
• Experience leading teams on sediment remediation projects.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information to clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate remediation technologies and design sediment remediation for multiple settings with stakeholders.
• Understand sediment transport, site assessment, sampling, cap modelling, dredge methods, and remedial design.
• Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data.
• Serve as task manager, develop technical strategy, and liaise with SMEs.
• Exhibit expertise in CERCLA, GLLA, and regulatory steps for contaminated sites.
• Liaise with clients, public, and consultants, explaining technical evaluations to non-experts.
• Lead staff in preparing and reviewing technical documents to ensure regulatory compliance.
