Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist to lead sediment remediation projects for Federal and Public sector clients. The role requires independent work and team leadership on complex sites, with travel up to 10%.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in sediment transport, regulatory programs (CERCLA, GLLA), and demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 7 years of related experience preferred.
• Experience leading engineers/scientists on sediment remediation projects.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required, travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise evaluating sediment remediation technologies and designs for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, and port sites.
• Understand sediment transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modelling, dredge approaches, remedial design/construction.
• Serve as task manager, communicate technical strategy to client and CDM Smith SMEs.
• Lead staff in preparing/reviewing technical information to ensure regulatory conformity.
