Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Providing expertise in evaluating the feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and preparing sediment remediation designs for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, and/or port site settings involving multiple stakeholders.
• Understanding the scientific and engineering principles of sediment and contaminant transport, environmental site assessment, sampling/monitoring technologies, cap modeling, dredge approaches, remedial action design, and/or remedial action construction.
• Providing support of mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Serving as CDM Smith’s task manager on various components of complicated sediments sites and communicating technical strategy to the client.
• Possessing in-depth expertise in CERCLA, GLLA, and regulatory steps at contaminated sediment sites.
• Serving as a technical liaison with clients, public, and outside consultants.
• Leading other staff in preparing/reviewing technical information to ensure compliance and quality.
