Backblaze in the United States is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to join the Security team, delivering enterprise security programs from initiation through delivery.

You''ll drive portfolio management, coordination across engineering, product, legal, and vendors, and build dashboards for executives. The role emphasizes risk management, incident response support, and continuous process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 8+ years of technical program management experience, including 3+ years managing security-focused programs
• Strong understanding of security domains: vulnerability management, threat modeling, IAM, network security, cloud security, incident response
• Regulatory/compliance familiarity: SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, GDPR, HIPAA, or FedRAMP
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP/PgMP, CRISC, CCSP
• Cloud security certifications (AWS Security Specialty, MS Security Operations Analyst)
• Ability to adapt agile management across environments
• Proven ability to manage multiple cross-functional programs in fast-paced setting
• Excellent written and verbal communication for executive audiences
• Strong analytical and risk-assessment skills with PM tools
• Demonstrated ability to influence without authority across teams

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning and execution of enterprise security programs
• Communicate security concepts and program status to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Develop and maintain program plans, timelines, budgets, and resources
• Identify and mitigate program risks and dependencies
• Drive cross-functional coordination between engineering, product, legal, and vendors
• Establish and report on program goals and dashboards for executives
• Manage intake and tracking of security findings and remediation
• Support incident response coordination and post-incident reviews
• Continuously improve PM processes, tooling, governance for security operations
• Foster transparency and servant leadership across technical teams
• Collaborate with TPMs on cross-functional process improvements
