Job summary

Backblaze, the object storage leader, is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to join the Security team. You will own enterprise security programs, drive portfolio management, and help shape operating models across the company.

You will lead cross-functional coordination with engineering, legal, and product, develop detailed plans and dashboards, report to executives, and help improve incident response readiness, risk management, and governance in a fast-paced remote-US environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of technical program management experience, including security programs.
• Strong security domain knowledge: vulnerability management, IAM, cloud security, incident response.
• Familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, GDPR, HIPAA, FedRAMP.
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP/PgMP, CRISC, CCSP.
• Ability to adapt agile management across development environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end security programs from initiation to delivery.
• Communicate security concepts and program status to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain program plans, timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and escalate blockers with options.
• Coordinate across engineering, product, legal, and vendors to implement controls.
• Report on goals, dashboards, and status for executives.
• Manage intake and remediation of security findings.
• Support incident response coordination and post-incident reviews.
• Improve security program management processes and governance.
• Foster transparency and servant leadership across teams.
• Participate in cross-functional process improvement initiatives.
