Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks an experienced Security Technician in Raleigh, NC to troubleshoot and service security and life-safety systems. You will work with customers to identify issues, perform repairs, document findings, and provide recommendations for improvements and quotes.

Responsibilities include testing CCTV, access control, intrusion, and fire alarm systems, coordinating inspections, and ensuring accurate service records. A valid driver’s license and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in the low-voltage or security industry.
• Excellent general knowledge of major security manufacturer platforms (Bosch/Radionics, Honeywell, Firelite, Silent Knight, DMP, DSC).
• Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to provide clear written or digital reports.
• Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
• Ability to pass thorough background and identity checks.

Responsibilities

• Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
• Readjust, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test systems for proper operation.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and service intrusion detection, IP CCTV, access control systems, and fire alarms when applicable.
• Coordinate inspections and installations with police, fire departments, or other agencies as needed.
• Assist fellow service technicians with system repairs and complete minor repairs, including battery replacement.
• Test system operation to the customer monitoring center to confirm service connectivity.
• Complete forms, service records, and customer paperwork accurately and on time.
• Provide recommendations, solutions, and quotes to support repairs, improvements, and upselling opportunities.
