Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Security Technician to troubleshoot and service intrusion, IP CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems across multiple manufacturers. The role emphasizes clear customer communication, inspecting systems for proper function, and delivering detailed reports to support efficient repairs.

You will locate and fix faults, readjust or replace equipment, and coordinate with authorities as needed. The position includes health benefits and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in low-voltage or security industry.
• Knowledge of major security manufacturer platforms (Bosch/Radionics, Honeywell, Firelite, Silent Knight, DMP, DSC, etc.).
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to pass thorough background and identity checks.
• Preferred ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to unload ladder from fleet vehicle and climb.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot intrusion, IP CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems from multiple manufacturers.
• Identify customer needs and inform them of next steps and processes to repair the system.
• Inspect systems to ensure proper functionality and provide written or digital reports.
• Provide customers with high‑level service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service items.
• As a trusted advisor, provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service.
• Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
• Readjust, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.
• Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other agencies.
• Perform repairs and/or inspections of intrusion, IP CCTV, access control systems and fire alarms.
• Assist fellow technicians with repairs and complete minor repairs including battery replacement.
• Test operation of system to monitoring center and establish connectivity.
• Complete all forms accurately and customer paperwork as required.
• Provide recommendations and quotes to support solutions.
• Prepare and present quotes to support recommendations.
