The role requires hands-on security software development in OS and network security, cryptography, and secure boot, with a track record of shipping secure systems at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related STEM field with 5+ years of security software development experience, or 7+ years without a degree.
• Experience with Python, C++, or Golang.
• Experience designing security solutions for OS, distributed systems, or large-scale infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and build security infrastructure for Starlink, including cryptographic services and other security-critical services.
• Develop security features for Starlink systems, including router, dish, gateways, and satellites.
• Design security into factory processes and provide network services in support of this.
• Maintain existing production systems and improve security posture via direct implementation and cross-team recommendations.
• Build prototypes and help identify, design, and test security improvements.
• Further SpaceX mission of providing secure and reliable Internet to underserved communities.
