Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Principal Security Software Engineer (Starlink) to influence security across Starlink products, designing cryptographic services and security features for routers, gateways, and satellites. You will work on secure boot, OS security, and incident response while collaborating with multiple teams.

The role demands a strong track record in security software, proficiency in Python/C++/Golang, and the ability to operate across complex systems and organizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or another STEM discipline with 8+ years in security software development; or 10+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with Python, C++, or Golang.
• Experience designing security solutions for OS, distributed systems, or large-scale infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and build security infrastructure for Starlink, including cryptographic services and security-critical services.
• Develop security features for Starlink systems (router, dish, gateways, satellites).
• Design security into factory processes and provide network services to support this.
• Maintain production systems and improve security posture through implementation and guidance to teams.
• Build prototypes and test security improvements.
• Advance mission of secure Internet access to underserved communities.
