Job summary

Alfie is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, scalable infrastructure underpinning identity, access, endpoint, and shared platform services. You will own systems end-to-end—from architecture through policy enforcement, upgrades, and day-to-day operations.

You will replace bespoke implementations with standardized, repeatable, secure-by-default infrastructure, in a San Francisco HQ-based role that requires in-office presence.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience operating and architecting mission-critical infrastructure in high‑reliability environments.
• Experience running Security Infrastructure.
• Senior technical owner for design and maturation of complex on‑prem, hybrid, or cloud‑integrated systems.
• Apply SRE principles at scale with observability and automation to reduce risk and toil.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity while making architectural decisions.
• Experience with fleet, endpoint, or VDI platforms such as FleetDM, Chef, or Azure Virtual Desktop.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate reliable infrastructure across on‑prem, hybrid, shared, and product-adjacent environments.
• Establish standardized infrastructure patterns that are secure-by-default and auditable.
• Own lifecycle of critical infrastructure platforms including provisioning, upgrades, and recovery.
• Build infrastructure-as-code and configuration management using Terraform, Chef, and Ansible.
• Mature identity-adjacent infrastructure including Microsoft Entra and Azure management patterns.
• Build observability, alerting, and incident response mechanisms to improve availability.
• Automate high-toil workflows with guardrails and safe rollback paths.
• Translate incidents and design reviews into durable fixes and reusable patterns.
• Influence cross-functional partners across security, identity, network, and platform teams.
