Job summary

Vannevar is building mission software that enables decision‑making across national security, defense, and intelligence communities. The Security Platform team owns authentication, authorization, and identity infrastructure to ensure secure, scalable access to resources.

You will join a small, cross‑functional team delivering backend and frontend work, building secure platforms, and shaping product workflows for customers with mission‑critical needs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong backend expertise with modern languages and databases.
• Comfortable with frontend work when needed and full‑stack delivery.
• Experience with identity/auth concepts and platforms (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML).
• Knowledge of RBAC/ABAC and SSO implementations.
• Excellent cross‑functional collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale centralized authentication and authorization platform across environments.
• Own internal self‑service platform for user, group, and permission management.
• Develop tooling and visualizations for access permissions comprehension.
• Evolve platform management interfaces and feature flags for new products.
• Collaborate with product engineering to share authorization capabilities.
• Shape long‑term roadmap to improve developer experience and scalability.
