Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join the Enterprise Application Security team and embed security into every stage of the software development lifecycle. This high-impact role focuses on shift-left security, automation, and governance across AI-enabled development workflows.

You will partner with engineering to design guardrails, enforce pipeline gates, and drive reductions in vulnerability risk while scaling security practices enterprise-wide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field.
• 7+ years of experience in security engineering or equivalent.
• Experience embedding security into SDLC and DevOps pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of security controls, governance, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams to define requirements, deliverables and timelines.
• Implement and monitor security systems and controls across pipelines.
• Ensure compliance with required standards, procedures, and processes.
• Provide security guidance and coaching to engineering teams.
