Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join our Enterprise Application Security team. You will embed security into the software development lifecycle, ensuring guardrails and scanners catch vulnerabilities early. This role focuses on shift-left practices, automation, and enabling developers across enterprise platforms.

You will lead security tooling, threat modeling, and governance for AI-enabled code and architectures, driving continuous risk reduction at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field.
• 7 years of security engineering or related experience.
• Experience as a software developer is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead secure design and implementation across SDLC with shift-left approach.
• Embed security controls in CI/CD pipelines and AI-assisted development workflows.
• Develop security-as-code policies and governance for enterprise teams.
• Provide hands-on guidance, training, and remediation recommendations to engineers.
• Define and report AppSec KPIs and risk metrics.
