Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join a remote-first, globally distributed team. You will design, implement, and manage comprehensive security measures protecting digital assets and data across cloud and on-prem environments.

You will lead incident response, risk remediation, and security monitoring initiatives, while shaping policies and driving security across the SDLC. A strong background in cloud security, IAM, cryptography, and security frameworks is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 6 years of cybersecurity engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of network security, cloud security, cryptography, IAM.
• Experience with security assessment tools and methodologies.
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash).
• Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, or SOC 2.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises infrastructure.
• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing to identify and remediate risks.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, leading containment and recovery efforts.
• Implement and manage security monitoring tools, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and SIEM solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to integrate security best practices into the SDLC and operational workflows.
