Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to assess and mitigate risk across our global platforms.

You will work with IT and engineering teams, providing security design guidance for new and existing applications, systems and platforms, reporting to the Director of Security Engineering. The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree, with hands-on experience in network security analysis, intrusion management, malware and vulnerability

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant security experience and a Bachelor's degree.
• Experience with network security analysis or intrusion management.
• Experience identifying malware and vulnerabilities and applying mitigations.
• Experience with secure deployment of infrastructure-as-a-service.
• Familiarity with FedRAMP and/or CMMC environments.

Responsibilities

• Research adversarial techniques, vulnerabilities and detection/response strategies.
• Conduct network, application and system security assessments and mitigation guidance.
• Assist with design/deployment of security controls.
• Perform compliance and policy investigations of internal systems.
• Document security guidelines and policies, emphasizing NIST 800-53/800-171.
• Provide security guidance to Akamai business units.
• Leverage AI to enhance processes and automation.
• Develop scripts and tools to support security functions.
