Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join the Information Security Team. You will collaborate with security experts to assess and mitigate risks across applications and platforms, guided by NIST standards and enterprise security programs.

You will design and deploy security controls, perform investigations, and develop scripts to support threat detection, with opportunities to leverage AI capabilities across Akamai's global security operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of security experience and a Bachelor's degree.
• Proven experience with network security analysis or intrusion management.
• Experience with malware and vulnerability identification and mitigation.
• Experience identifying software and application compromises and vulnerabilities.
• Experience with secure deployment and usage of infrastructure-as-a-service.
• Demonstrate experience in FedRAMP and/or CMMC certified environments.

Responsibilities

• Research adversarial techniques, vulnerabilities, and detection/response strategies.
• Conduct network, application and system security assessments to identify risks and mitigations.
• Assist with design and deployment of security controls.
• Perform compliance and policy investigations of internal systems.
• Document security guidelines and policies (NIST 800-53/800-171).
• Provide security guidance to Akamai business units.
• Leverage AI to enhance processes and automation.
• Develop scripts and tools to support above functions.
