Job summary

Hancock Whitney is seeking a security professional to design, implement, and support security controls across the company. You will serve as the SME for assigned controls, consulting to architects, peers, and management on opportunities and challenges. You will support incident response and production outages efforts.

The role emphasizes risk assessment, threat modeling, and regulatory/audit responses, with on-call rotations and collaboration with Security Engineers.

Qualifications

• Networking skills to troubleshoot flows, routing, packet captures, TCP/IP and SSL/TLS handshakes.
• Knowledge of server and workstation security configurations.
• Expert knowledge on firewalls, IPS, proxies/gateways, endpoint security, certificate management, authentication, DLP and IAM.

Responsibilities

• Maintain security controls at an operational level with minimal supervision.
• Assist designing and developing security technologies at infrastructure, platform, and application layers.
• Make recommendations on best-practice configurations and operational enhancements.
• Work on-call rotation for incident response and production outages.
• Conduct risk assessments, maturity evaluations, and threat modeling of security technologies.
• Support management with regulatory and audit inquiries.
• Offer guidance and assistance to Security Engineers.
• Provide direction to associates seeking technical guidance.
