Axios is hiring a Senior Security Engineer to lead defensive posture, threat modeling, and vulnerability management across cloud infrastructure and AI-enabled environments. You will embed security controls—including AI-driven defense—through CI/CD pipelines and IaC workflows, while guiding IAM, encryption, and zero-trust practices.

You’ll collaborate with product, infrastructure, data, and QE teams to ensure security is integrated at every development stage, and you’ll help shape the long-term

• Deep expertise in cloud and application security including threat modeling, vulnerability scanning, and compliance.

• Lead architectural design and implementation of security controls across cloud infrastructure, platform services, and AI integrations.
• Drive vulnerability management, threat modeling, incident response, and proactive security assessments across AWS, Kubernetes, and AI environments.
• Shape and execute the company’s long-term security roadmap with engineering and leadership.
• Embed automated security testing and AI-driven checks into CI/CD pipelines and IaC workflows.
• Oversee IAM, secrets management, encryption, and zero-trust standards.
• Evaluate and deploy internal AI security tools and third-party defensive solutions.
• Promote security culture through threat modeling workshops and secure coding coaching.
• Partner with product, infrastructure, data, and QE teams to integrate security across the life cycle.
