Job summary

Axios is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to lead our defensive posture across cloud infrastructure, AI security, and automation pipelines. You will shape our security roadmap and embed AI-driven defense into development workflows.

You will drive threat modeling, vulnerability management, incident response, and secure our AWS, Kubernetes, and AI environments while partnering with product and infrastructure teams to balance security with velocity.

Qualifications

• Experience architecting security across cloud, platform services, and AI integrations.
• Strong background in threat modeling, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Hands-on with CI/CD security, IaC, and automated security testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of security controls across cloud infra and AI integrations.
• Drive vulnerability management, threat modeling, and incident response.
• Embed automated security testing (SAST/DAST) into CI/CD and IaC workflows.
• Oversee IAM, secrets management, encryption, and zero-trust standards.
• Evaluate internal AI security tools and third-party defenses for real-time protection.
• Promote secure coding and security-conscious culture with engineering teams.
