Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in the United States (Washington, Bellevue) is seeking a Senior Security Engineer. You will work at the intersection of customer impact and AI, building and operating AI-powered security capabilities that support AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, and Continuum.

You will ship features that affect Fortune 500 customers and shape security software development life cycles. The role requires deep experience in security issues, scripting, and mentoring, along with strong coding

Qualifications

5+ years of troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating complex tasks using command line tools.
5+ years of identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans.
5+ years of scripting, programming, and security code review in common programming languages.
Knowledge of at least two of the following programming languages: Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go.
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Responsibilities

Run early-access and gated previews of AI-powered capabilities with customers, including threat modeling and remediation guidance.
Shape detection coverage and influence service roadmaps from customer feedback.
Drive detection engineering best practices, including security-value evaluation and false-positive reduction.
Stay current with evolving cloud security and threats, including agentic AI/ML threats.
Collaborate across science, engineering, partner, and field teams with flexible hours for global customers.
