Job summary

SkyePoint Decisions is seeking a Senior Security Controls Assessor to support the Department of Education's CPSS for Federal Student Aid in Washington, DC. This remote role requires a seasoned security professional to establish IA requirements, assess controls, and deliver comprehensive findings and briefings to senior leadership.

Responsibilities include creating SCT plans, coordinating with the AO and ISSO, and producing monthly status reports while ensuring alignment with NIST 800-53 and DHS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• CISSP or equivalent certification required.
• Minimum 10 years of related experience.
• Minimum 5 years as Security Controls Assessor or similar audit role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with security audits and compliance.
• Familiarity with government policies and procedures to ensure system documentation is compliant.

Responsibilities

• Establish and satisfy information assurance and security requirements based on policy, regulatory, and resource demands.
• Conduct comprehensive assessment of controls to determine effectiveness and compliance.
• Schedule and lead assessments with stakeholders; provide SAP, SAR, and security recommendations.
• Prepare security, privacy, and supply chain assessment reports with findings.
• Develop and execute a Security Controls Test plan aligned with DHS RVA standards; deliverables include final reports and briefings.
