Williams-Sonoma, Inc. in San Francisco seeks a Senior Accountant to support SEC reporting, including preparation of 10-K/10-Q/8-K/11-K filings. You will work closely with Investor Relations and auditors in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires 2–3 years in accounting, public accounting experience preferred, CPA or exams within 2 years, and strong GAAP knowledge. The position offers high visibility and opportunities to influence disclosures, controls, and close processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or completion of exams within 2 years
• 2–3 years’ experience, including public accounting; consumer product and SEC filing experience preferred
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and SEC reporting requirements
• Experience preparing public SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, 11-K) and coordinating with auditors

Responsibilities

• Prepare SEC filings (10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks and 11-Ks) with financial statements and disclosures
• Coordinate SEC document filings using Wdesk
• Prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts for period-end close
• Support earnings releases, including balance sheet tie-out and stock-based compensation disclosures
• Assist auditors during quarterly reviews and annual integrated audits
• Support budgets and forecasts for general ledger accounts and compensation programs
• Ensure SOX compliance and coordinate quarterly certifications
• Lead climate-related disclosures and sustainability reporting collaboration
• Interact with multiple departments to gather data for disclosures and filings
