Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to lead seat subsystem development and integration within the Seat Core Engineering team. You will drive design, analysis, validation, and program management across vehicle programs, coordinating with CAD, CAE, and suppliers to deliver cost-effective, high-quality seating solutions.

You will apply DFSS methods, conduct DFMEA/PFMEA, and balance mass, cost, and timing while ensuring cross-functional collaboration and robust program milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
• 5+ years delivering technical solutions for mechanical components in new vehicle programs.
• Seat development experience and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• DFSS Green Belt and Black Belt certification required; strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, analyze, implement, and validate complex seat subsystems.
• Perform DFMEA and PFMEA and manage CAD development with suppliers/GM designers.
• Lead the product development team (PDT) and manage program milestones.
• Collaborate across functions to meet requirements while balancing cost, mass, timing.
• Support virtual validation goals and incorporate lessons from builds.
