Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Software Defined Radio Engineer to design, develop, and integrate high-performance SDR solutions in Arlington, VA. The role emphasizes real-time RF signal processing, low-latency streaming, and hardware/software co-design with Ettus USRP platforms.

The candidate will build production-grade SDR systems, optimize them for demanding environments, and contribute to RF front ends, synchronization systems, and lab/field testing. Requires active clearance or ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Ettus USRP platforms (X310/X410, N320/N321, X440, B-Series).
• Strong proficiency in modern C++, Python, Linux systems programming and performance optimization.
• Experience with UHD API, real-time streaming, high-rate packet processing, socket programming, and low-latency software architectures.
• Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy advanced SDR systems using Ettus USRP hardware.
• Develop high-performance SDR applications using C++ and UHD.
• Implement and optimize real-time DSP pipelines, waveform generation, modulation/demodulation chains, and RF streaming architectures.
• Interface with FPGA-based SDR architectures and high-speed Ethernet transport.
• Develop software for low-latency, real-time RF applications and perform system integration/testing.
