Job summary

Amazon is seeking an SDM to support the Joining Amazon Organization, building the largest onboarding platform on Earth to move employees from offer acceptance to Day 1.

You'll lead a team across multiple tech groups, defining the technical roadmaps, driving architecture decisions and delivering scalable, robust services while mentoring engineers and partnering with product management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of engineering experience.
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience.
• 1+ years of providing technical leadership and project management for all aspects of the software development lifecycle experience.
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using Java, C#, or C++ experience.
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using service-oriented architecture experience.
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using distributed programming experience.
• 5+ years of Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupational experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Responsibilities

• Lead your team to build a brand new product with quality, robustness and Amazon sized scale as top priorities.
• Prioritize being a really great people manager. Recruit, motivate, reward and coach a diverse team of Software Development Engineers.
• Contribute to architecture and design discussions for full stack software.
• Lead the evolution of our service architecture with quality and scale; drive root-cause analyses and post-mortems.
• Set a vision for your team and create technical roadmaps.
• Help your team sort out technical and product requirements and priorities; deliver roadmaps and cross-team projects.
• Delight customers by addressing their challenges with innovative technology.
