Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Software Developer in Test (SDET) for a 100% remote U.S.-based position. The role requires strong programming skills in C#, Java, or Python, and experience across manual and automated testing within Agile environments. A Public Trust (MBI) clearance is required, with U.S.

citizenship preferred. Senior candidates will develop and execute test plans, write scripts, manage test data, and monitor test results across web apps and APIs.

Qualifications

• (Understanding of performance testing and tools).
• (Experience with defect tracking/management).
• (Knowledge of SQL and validating data).
• (Testing web apps, APIs, and services).
• (Understanding of security testing practices).
• (Experience with multiple testing types: functional, regression, etc).
• (Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills).
• (Strong communication and collaboration).
• (Ability to work independently or in a team).
• (Attention to detail and quality).
• (Able to mentor junior testers).
• (Translate business requirements into test scenarios).
• (Experience with test management tools).
• (Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools).
• (Ability to conduct test reviews).
• (Risk-based, exploratory, and context-driven testing).

Responsabilités

• Develop and execute test plans, cases, procedures to meet standards and user requirements.
• Develop test plans, schedules, and approaches.
• Write tests and scripts; identify data for test scenarios.
• Review test cases/scripts with managers/leads.
• Perform and lead tests to ensure defect-free operation.
• Verify work products using defined methods/criteria.
• Document and communicate test results.
• Support analysis of test results and issue resolution.
• Resolve complex problems; report progress to management.
• Improve procedures and model future configurations.
• Create daily test metrics/reporting.
• Occasionally perform other IT/system engineering tasks.
• Apply technical principles to objectives.
• Provide direction to staff per policies.
• Ensure objectives met; validate solutions.
• Mentor junior testers; prioritize tasks; meet deadlines.
• Understand business requirements; translate to test scenarios.
• Participate in test reviews; provide feedback.
• Engage with stakeholders and outside customers.
