Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a talented Software Developer in Test (SDET) to join our VA department remotely. The position is full-time, requiring experienced software testers with strong programming skills in languages such as C#, Java, or Python, and a track record of delivering high-quality software.

The ideal candidate will write and execute test plans, develop automated test scripts, participate in SDLC/Agile processes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of software testing and quality assurance experience.
• Experience with web applications, APIs, and data validation.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, cases, and procedures to ensure IT systems meet requirements.
• Create test plans and schedules and define testing approaches.
• Write test cases and scripts; identify data for test scenarios.
• Lead and participate in walkthroughs with managers and leads.
• Perform tests to ensure proper operation and defect-free software.
• Document and communicate test results and issues.
• Provide direction and mentorship to junior testers.
• Develop daily test metrics and reports.
• Support other IT activities and apply technical principles.
