Welo Data is seeking a Senior SDET to validate distributed backend systems supporting a high-stakes account provisioning workflow. The role focuses on tracer/replay testing in staging, documenting observable lifecycle states, and maintaining disciplined evidence capture.

The ideal candidate has strong distributed-systems and API-testing experience with an emphasis on traceability. This freelance engagement runs for 5 weeks at a rate of $13.50 per hour, remotely from India.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years testing distributed systems and analyzing inter-service API behavior.
• Experience with request payload tampering, fuzzing, or adversarial API testing techniques.
• Understanding of layered defense architectures and inline vs. background verification processes.
• Familiarity with backend data stores and data persistence checks.
• Disciplined test log archival, evidence capture, and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Analyze distributed system APIs to validate correctness and failure handling across services involved in account creation and data persistence.
• Execute pre-approved request variations using sanitized tracer payloads against staging endpoints.
• Investigate behavior under malformed or unexpected inputs and document findings clearly.
• Capture complete request/response evidence including status codes, latency, headers, and payloads.
• Verify near-real-time checks vs. longer-running verification processes across system layers.
