24-MAG LLC is seeking seasoned Senior Backend Engineers to build and validate reinforcement-learning environments for production infrastructure challenges. You will design distributed systems, implement robust DevOps practices, and craft deterministic validation workflows.

Ideal candidates bring deep backend expertise across C++, Python, Rust, Go, Java, or JavaScript, with strong CI/CD and cloud skills. This is a fully remote contractor role with flexible hours and project-based compensation.

Qualifications

• Strong professional backend-engineering experience.
• Expertise in C++, Python, Rust, Go, Java, or JavaScript.
• Strong practical experience with DevOps and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
• Demonstrated ability to architect, scale, and secure distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design realistic environments involving backend services, distributed systems, and storage.
• Create production-style scenarios covering deployment, scaling, troubleshooting, and recovery.
• Evaluate architecture for reliability, scalability, resilience, and operational correctness.
• Incorporate realistic failure modes and infrastructure constraints across cloud environments.
• Develop deterministic tests and golden reference solutions for validation.
