Job summary

HighLevel is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to build and evolve scalable frontend and backend systems, influencing architecture and driving performance and reliability. You will own features end-to-end, collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers, and apply AI-assisted development to improve testing, debugging, and production readiness.

Strong Node.js/TypeScript and frontend skills are required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in software engineering building scalable backend systems and high-performance frontend apps.
• Strong backend skills with Node.js, TypeScript, API development, data modeling, and system design.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and cross-service communication.
• Experience with MongoDB and Redis; data modeling and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging systems (Kafka, Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ).
• Exposure to AI/LLM development, integrating AI APIs and AI-assisted workflows.
• Good frontend experience with Vue.js, React, or Angular; Vue.js preferred, with Tailwind/Bootstrap.
• Knowledge of frontend state management (Vuex/Pinia, Redux) and modern CSS frameworks.
• Experience with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Sentry) and debugging.
• Familiarity with SDLC, Agile, Git workflows, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture, design, and development across Agency Module and Platform Billing.
• Design scalable backend services and integrations with a focus on reliability and security.
• Build frontend experiences for agency management and onboarding with modern frameworks.
• Drive technical decisions, assess risks, and own complex features end-to-end.
• Leverage AI-first development practices to improve testing, debugging, and refactoring.
• Model data across Firestore, MongoDB, ClickHouse, and Elasticsearch.
• Contribute to SDLC activities from requirements to production support.
• Write clean, secure, testable code with unit/integration coverage.
• Maintain observability through logs, metrics, and tracing for faster issue resolution.
• Participate in code reviews, incident resolution, and on-call support as needed.
• Collaborate with product, design, and other engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Follow security, scalability, maintainability, testing, documentation, and production-readiness best practices.
