Senior Scrum Master – IT Development

Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Scrum Master in Chicago to lead agile delivery across cross-functional teams. You will champion Scrum and Kanban practices, facilitate ceremonies, and remove impediments to ensure on-time product releases.

The role emphasizes stakeholder coordination, release management across distributed teams, and strong communication skills to align priorities with business partners. A minimum of 5 years implementing Agile methodologies is required.

Qualifications

• BS/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field of study with an IT focus, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience implementing Agile methodologies
• Scrum Master certification such as CSM or PSM strongly preferred
• Proven experience as a Scrum Master supporting Agile delivery teams in complex, cross-functional environments
• Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks including Scrum and Kanban
• Knowledge of Agile delivery best practices
• Ability to facilitate teams, manage stakeholders, and drive accountability for outcomes
• Experience with Agile tools including Jira, Jira Align, and Confluence
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Experience supporting release management and coordination across distributed onshore/offshore teams
• Strong dependency management experience
• CSM and CSPO experience and medium-sized Agile implementations involving 5-7 or more teams strongly preferred
• Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance from a posting location unless an accommodation is granted
