Job summary

Phyton Talent Advisors is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support software development teams by facilitating Agile practices, removing impediments, and promoting continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have hands-on Scrum Master experience in a technical IT environment.

Responsibilities include facilitating ceremonies, collaborating with Product Owners, tracking metrics, shielding teams from disruptions, and coaching on Agile values.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master supporting software development teams.
• Prior experience working as a Software Developer or in a technical IT environment.
• Strong understanding of Agile principles and frameworks, including Scrum and Kanban.
• Experience working directly with software development teams, Product Owners, and technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Agile project management and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools, including XL Deploy and XL Release.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, conflict-resolution, and active-listening skills.
• Ability to influence teams and stakeholders without direct authority.
• Experience with customer interaction and working in an IT environment.
• Knowledge of Cybersecurity concepts is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring ceremonies are productive, collaborative, and time-boxed.
• Identify, track, and actively remove blockers that may impact team progress.
• Partner closely with Product Owners to manage and refine the product backlog, ensuring user stories are clearly defined, estimated, prioritized, and ready for upcoming sprints.
• Track and communicate team velocity, burndown/burnup charts, sprint progress, and other Agile metrics to support planning and provide visibility to stakeholders.
• Shield development teams from external distractions, scope creep, and unplanned interruptions during active sprints.
• Lead retrospectives and help teams identify and implement actionable improvements for future sprints.
• Promote Agile principles, Scrum practices, and team accountability while encouraging collaboration and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Agile Facilitation: Facilitate daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring ceremonies are productive, collaborative, and time‑boxed.
• Team Support: Identify, track, and actively remove technical, organizational, and interpersonal blockers that may impact team progress.
• Product Owner Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Owners to manage and refine the product backlog, ensuring user stories are clearly defined, estimated, prioritized, and ready for upcoming sprints.
• Agile Metrics & Reporting: Track and communicate team velocity, burndown/burnup charts, sprint progress, and other Agile metrics to support planning and provide visibility to stakeholders.
• Team Protection: Shield development teams from external distractions, scope creep, and unplanned interruptions during active sprints.
