Job summary

Amgen in South San Francisco seeks a Scientist/Senior Scientist in Structural Biology to advance discovery through CryoEM, cryo-sample prep, data collection, and integrative structural biology.

You will collaborate across biology, engineering, automation, and medicinal chemistry teams to deliver high-quality structural insights for therapeutic programs, guiding design decisions and program progression.

Qualifications

• PhD in Structural Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or related field (or MD/PharmD).
• MD or PharmD or Masters with 3+ years Structural Biology experience.
• Bachelor’s with 5+ years Structural Biology experience.

Responsibilities

• Partner with discovery teams to define structural biology strategies and experimental plans.
• Perform cryo-sample prep, grid optimization, data collection, and processing.
• Deliver high-quality structural insights informing mechanism and design decisions.
• Develop scalable CryoEM workflows to improve throughput and data quality.
• Collaborate across Structural Biology, Protein Sciences, Therapeutic Discovery, and related teams.
• Coordinate activities across internal facilities and external collaborators.
