Amgen in South San Francisco seeks a Scientist/Senior Scientist in Structural Biology to lead CryoEM efforts across multiple programs. You will partner with discovery teams, optimize sample prep and data collection, and deliver high-quality structural insights to inform therapeutic decisions.

The role emphasizes developing scalable workflows, mentoring users, and advancing technology innovations while collaborating across protein sciences, medicinal chemistry, and computational biology.

Qualifications

• Experience with structure-based drug discovery in industry.
• Experience mentoring CryoEM users and training teams.
• Record of publications or technical innovations.
• Familiarity with automated data collection software such as EPU.
• Strong collaboration across scientific disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural biology strategies and experimental plans.
• Perform cryo-sample prep, data collection, and interpretation.
• Deliver insights informing mechanism of action and design decisions.
• Develop scalable CryoEM workflows to improve throughput and data quality.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external collaborators.
• Support CryoEM platforms at South San Francisco site.
